Wilkins Chalgren Agar (Powder)

Highly nutritive medium for cultivation and isolation of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Appearance: Light beige homogenous, free fowing powder, Solubility: Yellow-beige, trace to slight hazy, pH (25ºC): 7.1 ± 0.2, Formulation (g/L): Enzymatic Digest of Casein 10g , Enzymatic Digest of Gelatin 10g , Yeast Extract 5g, Sodium Chloride 5g , Dextrose 1g L-Arginine 1g , Sodium Pyruvate 1g , Hemin 0.005g , Vitamin K 0.0005g , Agar 15g, Total 47.0055 , Directions per Liter:, Dissolve 47.0055g in 1L of ddH2O. Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave (15psi) for 15 minutes at 121ºC. Storage and Stability: Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment.
