Product information "TPO (murine), animal free recombinant"
Product Description: TPO, a lineage-specific growth factor, originates from the liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle. It triggers the growth and development of megakaryocytes, leading to higher platelet levels in the bloodstream. TPO communicates through the c-mpl receptor, playing a crucial role in platelet regulation. Both human and murine TPO can interact across species. The Recombinant Murine TPO, comprising 174 amino acids (18.7 kDa), is biologically active, encompassing the erythropoietin-like domain of the complete TPO protein.. Amino acid sequence: SPVAPACDPR LLNKLLRDSH LLHSRLSQCP DVDPLSIPVL LPAVDFSLGE WKTQTEQSKA QDILGAVSLL LEGVMAARGQ LEPSCLSSLL GQLSGQVRLL LGALQGLLGT QLPLQGRTTA HKDPNALFLS LQQLLRGKVR FLLLVEGPTL CVRRTLPTTA VPSSTSQLLT LNKF. Endotoxin concentration: <0.1 EU/µg. Activity: Determined by a cell proliferation assay using Balb/c 3T3 cells. The expected ED50 is = 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 10^7 units/mg. Contains no preservative. Protein function: Lineage-specific cytokine affecting the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes from their committed progenitor cells. It acts at a late stage of megakaryocyte development. It may be the major physiological regulator of circulating platelets. [The UniProt Consortium]
