KGF (FGF-7), also known as Keratinocyte Growth Factor, is a member of the FGF family, which comprises 23 known proteins. This family of proteins holds a critical position in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and the regeneration of various tissues, achieving this through the promotion of cellular proliferation and differentiation. Specifically, KGF (FGF-7) acts as a mitogenic factor targeting epithelial cells and keratinocytes. KGF (FGF-7) transmits its signals via FGFR 2b and contributes significantly to kidney and lung development, as well as angiogenesis and wound healing processes. The recombinant Human KGF (FGF-7) is an 18.9 kDa protein composed of 163 amino acid residues.
