Product information "Interleukin-4 (Il4) (Active), mouse, recombinant"
Organism: Mus musculus (Mouse). Source: Mammalian cell. Expression Region: 21-140aa. Protein Length: Full Length of Mature Protein. Tag Info: C-terminal 6xHis-tagged. Target Protein Sequence: HIHGCDKNHL REIIGILNEV TGEGTPCTEM DVPNVLTATK NTTESELVCR ASKVLRIFYL KHGKTPCLKK NSSVLMELQR LFRAFRCLDS SISCTMNESK STSLKDFLES LKSIMQMDYS. Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined in a cell proliferation assay using M-NFS-60 mouse lymphoblast cells is 0.035 ng/ml. Form: Lyophilized powder. Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered 20 mM PB, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.4. Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference. Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. Relevance: Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic cytokine that regulates diverse T and B cell responses including cell proliferation, survival and gene expression. IL-4 is produced by mast cells, T cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. IL-4 regulates the differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells into helper Th2 cells, characterized by their cytokine-secretion profile that includes secretion of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-13, which favor a humoral immune response. Another dominant function of IL-4 is the regulation of immunoglobulin class switching to the IgG1 and IgE isotypes. Excessive IL-4 production by Th2 cells has been associated with elevated IgE production and allergic response. Reference: n/a. Function: Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types
