Recombinant human BAFF, (B-cell-activating factor, also known as TNFSF13B, Tumor necrosis factor... more
Product information "BAFF Recombinant (Human)"
Recombinant human BAFF, (B-cell-activating factor, also known as TNFSF13B, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13B), full length of soluble form, encompassing amino acids 134-285. This construct is tag-free. This protein was affinity purified. B-cell activating factor (BAFF) is a cytokine regulating B cell development, survival, and antibody production. It is a key player in the immune response and has implications in autoimmune diseases. It is a ligand for receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR. BAFF normally maintains immune balance, and overproduction of BAFF leads to various auto-immune diseases. It is, therefore, a therapeutic target. Drugs that inhibit BAFF, such as belimumab, have been approved for the treatment of certain autoimmune disorders.
