An NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor, inhibits ASC oligomerization in LPS-primed and ATP-activated THP-1 cells, reduces nigericin-induced IL-1beta release in LPS-primed THP-1 cells and microglia (IC50s = 11 and 43 nM, respectively), reduces ATP-induced IL-1beta release in LPS-primed human PBMCs (IC50 = 4.5 nM), improves motor function and reduces brain alpha-synuclein levels in a mouse model of 6-OHDA-induced Parkinson's disease at 30 mg/kg.
