Human matrix metallopeptidase-1 (MMP1), also known as CLG, Interstitial Collagenase, Fibroblast Collagenase, and EC 3.4.24.7 (GenBank Accession No. NM_002421), a.a. 20-469 (end), with C-terminal His-tag, MW=53 kDa, expressed in an HEK293 cell expression system. Protein function: Cleaves collagens of types I, II, and III at one site in the helical domain. Also cleaves collagens of types VII and X. In case of HIV infection, interacts and cleaves the secreted viral Tat protein, leading to a decrease in neuronal Tat's mediated neurotoxicity. [The UniProt Consortium]
