16-Dehydroprogesterone is a progestin and an active metabolite of pregnenolone (Cay-19864). It inhibits the proliferation of HL-60 leukemia and U937 lymphoma cells (IC50s = 10. and 3. µM, respectively). 16-Dehydroprogesterone (2 mg/kg), in combination with gonadotropin, increases ovary and uterine weights in prepuberal rhesus monkeys.. Solulibility: DMSO: Sparingly soluble: 1-10 mg/ml: Ethanol: Sparingly soluble: 1-10 mg/ml.
