Tubastatin A is an inhibitor of class IIb histone deacetylases (HDACs), such as HDAC6 and HDAC10. Tubastatin A exhibits cardioprotective and anticancer chemotherapeutic activities. In vivo, tubastatin A decreases levels of -tubulin ad protects against atrial fibrillation-related atrial remodeling. Additionally, tubastatin A restores expression of primary cilia and decreases cell proliferation and growth in cholangiocarcinoma cells, in similar animal models, this compound inhibits tumor growth.
