Tipranavir-d4 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of tipranavir (Cay-21028) by GC- or LC-MS. Tipranavir is a potent, orally bioavailable nonpeptidic HIV aspartyl protease inhibitor (Ki = <1 nM) that prevents cleavage and thus activation of functional HIV-cleaved proteins.
