Ro 08-2750 is a p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) ligand that completely inhibits nerve growth factor (NGF) binding to p75NTR in PC12 cells when used at a concentration of 100 µM. It also binds to NGF dimers (Kd = ~1 µM) to induce a conformational change that prevents NGF binding to p75NTR or tropomyosin-related kinase A (TrkA). Ro 08-2750 inhibits NGF-induced death of SK-N-MC cells and inhibits autophosphorylation of TrkA in PC12 cells.
