Omeprazole sulfide is an active metabolite of the gastric H+/K+ ATPase inhibitor omeprazole (Cay-14880). Omeprazole sulfide has been used as a precursor in the synthesis of the H+/K+ ATPase inhibitor esomeprazole (Cay-17303).
