It selectively inhibits glutamate-induced calcium mobilization in HEK293 cells expressing human mGluR2 (IC50 = 11.4 nM) over HEK293 cells expressing rat mGluR1, -5, -7, or -8 and those expressing human mGluR4 at 10 µM..
