COX-2-IN-6

A gut-restricted COX-2 inhibitor (IC50 = 0.84 µM), selective for COX-2 over COX-1 (IC50 = >50 µM), inhibits PGE2 production in HEK293 cells expressing COX-2 but those expressing COX-1 (IC50s = 0.6 and >50 µM, respectively), selectively accumulates in the colon versus the plasma at a ratio of 492:1 and reduces total ileum polyp area in an ApcMin/+ mouse model of FAP and colorectal cancer at 300 mg/kg.
