Bax channel blocker is an inhibitor of Bax. It binds to Bax in a cell-free assay (Kd = 15 µM) and inhibits Bax-mediated membrane permeabilization induced by the membrane-targeted death ligand tBID in a liposomal release assay (IC50 = 3.3 µM). Bax channel blocker inhibits apoptosis induced by TNF-alpha- and the protein synthesis inhibitor cycloheximide (Cay-14126) in mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs, IC50 = 1.8 µM).
