Synthetic. Chemical. CAS: 6174-86-3. Formula: C10H7ClO3. MW: 210.61. Synthetic. Major metabolite and hydrolysis product of coumaphos, an organophosphate pesticide. Shown to have acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitor activity and moderate to weak alpha-glucosidase inhibitory and antioxidant scavenging activity. Also used as a building block in the synthesis of fluorogenic substrates for the detection of bacterial beta-Galactosidase.
