Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs)

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) are mononuclear cells of the blood with a round nucleus. They mainly include lymphocytes (i.e. T, B and NK cells), as well as monocytes and dendritic cells. They all play an important role in the body's immune response and are therefore used in clinical research. They can also be used in diagnostics as an indicator of the presence of an infection or as a prognostic factor of the progression of HIV infection. Our partner Research Donors isolates PBMCs from human whole blood or leukopaks by density gradient centrifugation. Samples are frozen within five hours of blood collection, ensuring optimal cell viability and functionality.
