Product Description: Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1), also known as interstitial collagenase, is an enzyme that plays a vital role in the degradation of extracellular matrix components, particularly collagen. This protein is crucial for normal physiological processes such as tissue remodeling, wound healing, and embryogenesis. MMP1 is expressed in various tissues, including the skin, lung, and synovium, and its activity is tightly regulated by tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Dysregulation of MMP1 has been implicated in several diseases, particularly in inflammatory conditions and cancer.
