Product information "Anti-Human EPHB4 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: EPH receptor B4 (EPHB4), is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family that plays a pivotal role in cell communication and developmental processes. EPHB4 binds promiscuously to transmembrane ephrin-B ligands on adjacent cells, initiating contact-dependent bidirectional signaling: forward signaling through the receptor and reverse signaling through the ligand. This interaction is essential for regulating cell adhesion, migration, and tissue boundary formation. EPHB4, especially in concert with its major ligand ephrin-B2 (EFNB2), is critical in heart morphogenesis, angiogenesis, and the remodeling and permeability of blood vessels. Variations or dysregulation in EPHB4 signaling have been implicated in several diseases, notably cancer, where EPHB4 influences tumor growth, metastasis, and pathological angiogenesis. In addition, recent studies link EPHB4 to vascular anomalies such as central conducting lymphatic anomaly and brain arteriovenous malformations. Protein Function: Receptor tyrosine kinase which binds promiscuously transmembrane ephrin-B family ligands residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Together with its cognate ligand/functional ligand EFNB2 it is involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and migration, and plays a central role in heart morphogenesis, angiogenesis and blood vessel remodeling and permeability. EPHB4-mediated forward signaling controls cellular repulsion and segregation from EFNB2-expressing cells [The Uniprot Consortium]
