Anti-EDG 6 (Endothelial Differentiation G-protein Coupled Receptor 6, EDG6, LPC1, SLP4, Sphingosine

Edg6 is a recently cloned member of the endothelial differentiation gene (EDG) G protein-coupled receptor family. It is a receptor for the lysosphingolipid sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), which are structurally related lysophospholipid mediators. Binding of SPP to Edg6 activates Erk, leading to the activation of the transcription factor Elk1 and thus the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway. The protein also acts as a receptor for a lipid-derived ligand. Edg6 plays an essential role in lymphocyte cell signaling. The protein is specifically expressed in fetal and adult lymphoid and hematopoietic tissue as well as in lung. Human Edg6 gene is intronless and is mapped to chromosome 19p13.3 at the D19S120 marker. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence (IC): 5ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections, Western Blot: 3-5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Jurkat and RAW cell lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
