Die HumanKine®-Produktlinie von Proteintech mit in menschlichen Zellen exprimierten Zytokinen und Wachstumsfaktoren wurde 2005 eingeführt. Die HumanKine®-Produkte werden in Proteintechs GMP-Anlage in der Nähe von Chicago hergestellt, was eine vollständige Kontrolle über die Qualität, Skalierbarkeit und Konsistenz der Produkte von Charge zu Charge bedeutet. Sie werden in HEK293-Zellen exprimiert - ein tierfreier Prozess. Das native menschliche Expressionssystem bietet zusätzliche Vorteile wie die native menschliche Konformation und posttranslationale Modifikationen, die zu hochaktiven und stabilen Proteinen führen. Außerdem sind sie Endotoxin-, Xeno- und Tag-frei.
