Anti-CD88 (C5aR, C5a Receptor 1, C5aR1, Complement Component 5a Receptor 1)

C5aR1, also known as C5a ligand and CD88, is a 7TM protein expressed on myeloid, endothelial, epithelial, and smooth muscle cells. C5aR binds the activated complement anaphylatoxin C5a. In established allergic environments, this triggers neutrophil and eosinophil chemotaxis and the release of proinflammatory mediators. In contrast, C5aR1/C5a interactions are protective during allergen sensitization. Human C5aR1 shares 66% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat C5aR. Applications: Suitable for use in Neutralization, Flow Cytometry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 2.5ug/10e6 cells using human peripheral blood granulocytes, Neutralization: 2-10ug/ml in the presence of 10ng/ml recombinant human Complement Component C5a and cytochalasin?B., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse inoculated with human C5aR1 transfected NS0 mouse myeloma cells. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
