Bax is a 21kD protein that has extensive amino acid homology with Bcl-2. It forms homodimers or heterodimer with Bcl-2 and the apoptotic activity depends on the balance of both molecules. Over expression of Bax accelerates programmed cell death induced by apoptotic stimulus. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml , Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 2-4ug/ml, , Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: HeLa cells and Hodgkin's Lymphoma,, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
