Protein Length: Cys24-Ala207. Protein Tag: N terminal containing a HIS tag. TIMP-1 is an inducible glycoprotein, which is synthesized by many different cell types. TIMP-1 binds in a reversible fashion to matrix metalloproteinases, with regions in the Nterminal domain binding to the MMP substrate-binding site. TIMP-1 also functions as erthyroid-potentiating activity via translocation to the nucleus and also in inhibiting apoptosis in B-cells. RANDOX recombinant TIMP-1 comprises a 184 amino acid fragment (24-207) corresponding to the mature TIMP1 protein and is expressed in E. coli with an aminoterminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
