Inhibits fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-induced retinal lens fiber differentiation, probably by inhibiting FGF-mediated phosphorylation of ERK1/2. Inhibits TGFB-induced epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in lens epithelial cells. [The UniProt Consortium]
