Product information "Phosphopantothenoylcysteine Decarboxylase/PPC-DC Protein(N-6His) (recombinant human)"
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Phosphopantothenoylcysteine Decarboxylase is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Ser204 is expressed with a 6His tag at the N-terminus. Sequence: Met 1-Ser204. Fusion tag: N-6His Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg as determined by the LAL method. Apparent Molecular Mass: 27 kDa. Protein function: Phosphopantothenoylcysteine Decarboxylase (PPC-DC) is an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis ofCoenzyme A and catalyzes the decarboxylation of PPC to Phosphopantetheine. PPC-DC catalyzes the decarboxylation of the Cysteine moiety of 4-Phosphopantothenoylcysteine (PPC) to form 4-Phosphopantetheine (PPantSH), this reaction forms part of the biosynthesis of Coenzyme A. The enzyme is a member of the larger family of Cysteine Decarboxylases including the Lantibiotic-Biosynthesizing enzymes EpiD and MrsD, all of which use a tightly bound Flavin cofactor to oxidize the Thiol moiety of the substrate to a Thioaldehyde. Protein function: Necessary for the biosynthesis of coenzyme A. Catalyzes the decarboxylation of 4-phosphopantothenoylcysteine to form 4'- phosphopantotheine. [The UniProt Consortium]
