MUC16, Human (Mucin-16, MUC-16, CA-125, Ovarian Cancer-related Tumor Marker CA125, Ovarian Carcinoma

CA-125 also known as mucin 16 or MUC16 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MUC16 gene. MUC16 is a member of the mucin family of glycoproteins. CA-125 has found application as a tumor marker or biomarker that may be elevated in the blood of some patients with specific types of cancers, or other benign conditions. Source: CA 125, from human ovarian adenocarcinoma cell line. Applications: Suitable for use for making standards, calibrators, and is primarily used for multiple analyte controls. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
