Product information "Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF)"
Protein Length: Pro2- Phe115. Protein Tag: N terminal containing a HIS tag. MIF is involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. Reportedly, it also plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may possibly indicate a role in integrin signalling pathways. However, the biological mechanism and significance of MIF remains unknown. RANDOX recombinant MIF comprises a 114 amino acid fragment (2-115) corresponding to the mature MIF protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
