Human SCN3A-Strep full length protein-synthetic nanodisc
Product information "Human SCN3A-Strep full length protein-synthetic nanodisc"
Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit with 24 transmembrane domains and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel alpha subunit gene family, and is found in a cluster of five alpha subunit genes on chromosome 2. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. Human SCN3A-Strep full length protein-synthetic nanodisc. Protein function: Mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, forms a sodium- selective channel through which Na(+) ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient (PubMed:24157691, PubMed:28235671, PubMed:29466837). May contribute to the regulation of serotonin/5- hydroxytryptamine release by enterochromaffin cells. In pancreatic endocrine cells, required for both glucagon and glucose- induced insulin secretion.
