Recombinant Human Alpha-fetoprotein is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Arg19-Val609 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. Protein function: Binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. Only a small percentage (less than 2%) of the human AFP shows estrogen-binding properties. [The UniProt Consortium]
