Product information "Glutathione Peroxidase 3, Recombinant, Human, aa21-226, His-tag (GPX3, GSHPx-3, GPx-3, GSHPx-P, GPx-"
GPX3, also known as glutathione peroxidase 3, belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family, which functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. GPX3 protects cells and enzymes from oxidative damage, by catalyzing the reduction of hydrogen peroxide, lipid peroxides and organic hydroperoxide, by glutathione. This protein is one of only a few proteins known in higher vertebrates to contain selenocysteine, which occurs at the active site of glutathione peroxidase and is coded by the nonsense (stop) codon TGA. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa21-226 from human GPX3(U73C), fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~25.7kD (227aa) confirmed by MALDI-TOF, AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MQSRGQEKSK MDCHGGISGT IYEYGALTID GEEYIPFKQY AGKYVLFVNV ASYCGLTGQY IELNALQEEL APFGLVILGF PCNQFGKQEP GENSEILPTL KYVRPGGGFV PNFQLFEKGD VNGEKEQKFY TFLKNSCPPT SELLGTSDRL FWEPMKVHDI RWNFEKFLVG PDGIPIMRWH HRTTVSNVKM DILSYMRRQA ALGVKRK, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
