Product information "Discoidin domain-containing receptor 2 Protein (recombinant mouse)"
Activity: The specific activity was determined to be 2 nmol/min/mg using synthetic modified AXLtide peptide (modified-CKKSRGDYMTMQIG) as substrate. Protein Construction: Recombinant Mouse Discoidin domain-containing receptor 2 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Gln24-Arg399 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. Sequence: Leu444-Val874. Fusion tag: C-6His Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg as determined by the LAL method. Apparent Molecular Mass: 60-75 kDa. Protein function: Discoidin domain receptor-2 (DDR2) is a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor that can be activated by soluble collagen and has been implicated in diverse physiological functions including organism growth and wound repair. DDR2 binds to and is activated by collagen I, II, III, V, and X, with the notable exception of basement membrane collagen IV. DDR2 is expressed in connective tissues arising from embryonic mesoderm. DDR2 regulates cell proliferation, cell adhesion, migration, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Protein function: Tyrosine kinase that functions as cell surface receptor for fibrillar collagen and regulates cell attachment to the extracellular matrix, remodeling of the extracellular matrix, cell migration, differentiation, survival and cell proliferation. Collagen binding triggers a signaling pathway that involves SRC and leads to the activation of MAP kinases. Regulates remodeling of the extracellular matrix by up-regulation of the matrix metalloproteinases MMP2, MMP7 and MMP9, and thereby facilitates cell migration and wound healing, but also tumor cell invasion. Promotes smooth muscle cell migration, and thereby contributes to arterial wound healing. Phosphorylates PTPN11. Required for normal blastocyst implantation during pregnancy, for normal mammary gland differentiation and normal lactation. Required for normal ear morphology and normal hearing.
