Cellulase (Onozuka R-10) is a multi-component enzyme system derived from Trichoderma viride and contains cellulase, alpha-amylase, hemicellulase, pectinase and protease activities. It is often used in the isolation of plant protoplasts in combination with other enzymes. Source: Trichoderma viride, Synonyms: Onozuka R-10, CAS No: 9012-54-8, EC Number: 3.2.1.4, Unit Definition of Activity: One unit of Cellulase will liberate 1.0 micromole of glucose form carboxymethyl cellulose per minute at 40 °C, pH 4.5, glucose determined with alkaline copper reagent (3). Major Enzyme Activity: Cellulase: 1U/mg, Extraneous Enzyme Activities: Pectinase: 0.4U/mg, Hemicellulase: 1.0U/mg, alpha-Amylase: 0.6U/mg, Protease: 0.01U/mg, Optimum pH range: 4-5, Solubility: Soluble in water (10mg/ml), Loss on Drying: <10%, Arsenic: <3ug, Heavy Metals: <0.0005%, Activity: >10,000U/g, Total Viable Count: <10,000cfu/g, Fungi: <100cfu/g, Coliform: Negative, Stability and Storage: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months at 4°C.
