Cellulase is an enzyme complex useful for the isolation of plant protoplasts, biomass conversion, carbohydrate research, liquid food clarification and cell dissociation. Trichoderma reesei converts cellulose to glucose via multi-enzymatic hydrolysis of beta-glucans, xylans and hemicellulosic polymers. pH: 4.9-5.3, Specific Gravity: As reported, Enzyme Activity: > 2500 IU/ml. No protease, lipase or amylase side activity detected. Unit Definition: 1 unit releases 1µmole of reducing sugars (glucose equivalents) per minute from microcrystalline cellulose at 50ºC, pH 4.8. Stability and Storage: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
