Recombinant Biotinylated Mouse IL-1 Beta/IL-1F2 Protein is expressed from E.coli with His tag and Avi tag at the N-terminus.It contains Val118-Ser269. Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1beta) is induced by inflammatory signals in a broad number of immune cell types. IL-1beta (and IL-18) are the only cytokines which are processed by caspase-1 after inflammasome-mediated activation. IL-1 signaling activates innate immune cells including antigen presenting cells, and drives polarization of CD4 T cells towards T helper type (Th) 1 and Th17 cells. Protein function: Potent proinflammatory cytokine. Initially discovered as the major endogenous pyrogen, induces prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, B- cell activation and antibody production, and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. Promotes Th17 differentiation of T-cells. Synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T- helper 1 (Th1) cells. Plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing VEGF production synergistically with TNF and IL6. [The UniProt Consortium]
