alpha-Rhamnosidase 78B & Kdo hydrolase 33A (BtRam78B-Kdo33A), assigned the E.C. number 3.2.1.40 and 3.2.1.- , is a derivative of Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron. It is a bifunctional enzyme that participates in the hydrolysis of terminal non-reducing alpha-L-rhamnose residues in alpha-L-rhamnosides and a 2-keto-3-deoxynononic acid hydrolase. The recombinant BtRam78B-Kdo33A, purified from Escherichia coli, is a modular Glycoside Hydrolase family 78 and 33 (GH78 and GH33) enzyme, containing GH78 and GH33 catalytic domains and an N-terminal family 67 Carbohydrate Binding Module (CBM67) (see more details at www.cazy.org).The protein is supplied in a solution containing 35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM Imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol, at a concentration of 1 mg/mL.
