Indoramin-d5

Indoramin-d5 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of indoramin by GC- or LC-MS. Indoramin is an antagonist of alpha1-adrenergic receptors (alpha1-ARs, Kis = 5, 10, and 50 nM for the human alpha1A-, alpha1B-, and alpha1D-ARs, respectively). It also binds to alpha1L-ARs (pA2 = 8.5) and inhibits norepinephrine and serotonin (5-HT) uptake in rat brain cortical slices (IC50 = 2 µM for both). Indoramin (5 mg/kg) decreases blood pressure in normotensive anesthetized rats. Intrathecal administration of indoramin decreases micturition pressure and increases bladder capacity and micturition volume in conscious rats. Formulations containing indoramin have been used in the treatment of urinary outflow obstruction in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia..
