Cholic acid (CRM) (Cay-44866) is a certified reference material categorized as a primary bile acid. It is produced from cholesterol via a multistep process and is involved in the facilitation of digestion and absorption of dietary lipids and fat-soluble vitamins. Increased serum levels of cholic acid are associated with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and esophageal adenocarcinoma, and decreased duodenal bile levels of cholic acid are associated with diabetes. This product is intended for use in quantitative analytical research applications. This product is also available as a general research tool (Cay-20250, Cay-44008).
