1-Palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine Epoxides MaxSpec(R) LC-MS Mixture (Cay45699) is a mixture containing epoxides resulting from mCPBA-mediated epoxidation of 1-palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (1,2-PLPC, Item No. 20962). It also contains the unoxidized precursor phospholipid. It may be used as a reference standard for LC-MS to identify phospholipids containing esterified oxylipins in samples derived from a natural source. The mixture is provided as a 1 ml ethanolic solution at 100 µg/ml in an amber ampule in which the headspace has been purged with argon to prevent further lipid oxidation. After opening, it is recommended that the mixture be transferred immediately to a glass screw cap vial to prevent solvent evaporation and stored at -20°C, avoiding multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Ongoing stability testing is performed throughout the shelf life of the product. Note: The amount of solution added to the vial is in excess of the listed amount.
