Stearyl glycyrrhetinate is a stearyl ester derivative of 18beta-glycyrrhetinic acid (Cay11845). It is active against methicillin-susceptible and -resistant S. aureus (MRSA, MICs = 64-4,096 and 128-2,048 mg/L, respectively). Stearyl glycyrrhetinate has been used in the formation of liver-targeting liposomes. Formulations containing stearyl glycyrrhetinate have been used in cosmetics..
