Hericene A is a polyketide synthase-derived geranyl resorcylate that has been found in H. erinaceus and has diverse biological activities. It is an inhibitor of alpha-glucosidase (IC50 = 6.7 µM). Hericene A (1-100 µM) decreases LPS-induced TNF-alpha, IL-6, and nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 cells.
