Betamethasone dipropionate is a synthetic corticosteroid and prodrug form of betamethasone (Cay-20363). It binds to the glucocorticoid receptor (IC50 = 5.25 nM). Betamethasone dipropionate decreases the number of circulating eosinophils in dogs and reduces croton oil-induced exudate formation in a granuloma pouch assay in rats.
