beta-Sitostenone is a phytosterol that has been found in A. occidentale and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits basal nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophages (IC50 = 15.9 µM). beta-Sitostenone is active against T. evansi (IC50 = 150 nM).
