Lipids

Lipids are small, organic molecules, that are usually hydrophobic or amphiphillic. For example, this group includes fats, fatty acids, waxes, triglycerides, sterols and phospholipids. Lipids are the main structural component of biological membranes of all cells. As such, bacterial lipid structures and glycolipids can serve as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and are recognized by the human immune system. Various lipids and lipid complexes of bacterial origin are therefore used as immunostimulants.

Resolvin D3
Resolvin D3

Item number: Cay13834-10

Resolvins are a family of potent lipid mediators derived from both eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, Cay-90110) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, Cay-90310). In addition to being anti-inflammatory, resolvins promote the resolution of the inflammatory response. Resolvin D3 (RvD3) is a DHA-derived product first identified in...

C8 Ceramide-1-phosphate (d18:1/8:0)

Item number: Cay62547-1

C8 ceramide-1-phosphate is a short-chain analog of the naturally occurring ceramide-1-phosphate. The effects of C8 ceramide-1-phosphate are essentially the opposite of C8 ceramide, it induces DNA synthesis and cell division. The effects of C8 ceramide-1-phosphate can be attenuated by simultaneous treatment with C2...

N-Oleoyl Dopamine
N-Oleoyl Dopamine

Item number: Cay10115-5

N-Oleoyl dopamine (ODA) is a selective, endogenous vanilloid receptor 1 (VR1) agonist isolated from bovine brain. Structurally, it is the amide of oleic acid and dopamine and is therefore a "hybrid" analog which incorporates components of both the anandamide-like and dopamine neurotransmitter pathways. ODA binds to...
