21-Deoxycortisone

21-Deoxycortisone is a corticosteroid metabolite of 11-keto progesterone. It is formed from 11-keto progesterone by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoform CYP17A1, but can also be produced via oxidation of 21-deoxycortisol (Cay-30873) by 11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 (11beta-HSD2).
