UGQuencher-3 NHS ester, equivalent to BHQ 3 NHS ester, is a far-red dark quencher with no intrinsic fluorescence, making it a non-emissive acceptor dye. Commonly referred to as UBQ-3, it is widely used in the preparation of fluorogenic dual-labeled probes, qPCR probes, and other fluorescence-quenched probe applications. Its broad and intense absorption range (620-730 nm) makes it highly effective as an acceptor in FRET applications, particularly when paired with far-red to near-IR emitting dyes such as Cy5, Cy5.5, Alexa Fluor(R) 633, 647, 700, and IRDye(R) 650, 680, and 700.
