The amine-reactive Texas Red(R)-X, succinimidyl ester is an improved alternative to Texas Red(R)... more
Product information "Texas Red-X SE (5-isomer)"
The amine-reactive Texas Red(R)-X, succinimidyl ester is an improved alternative to Texas Red(R) (a trademark of Invitrogen). It shares the same spectral properties as Texas Red(R), with excitation/emission maxima at approximately 595/615 nm, but it offers significantly easier conjugation to biomolecules and higher conjugation yields. This dye is ideal for creating bright red-fluorescent bioconjugates. A key feature of Texas Red(R)-X is the inclusion of a seven-atom aminohexanoyl spacer ("X") between the fluorophore and the succinimidyl ester group. This spacer helps distance the fluorophore from its attachment point, potentially minimizing interactions between the fluorophore and the biomolecule, which can improve performance. Unlike mixed isomers, this product is the pure 5-isomer, providing more consistent and reproducible results, making it a preferred choice for applications requiring precision and reliability. Chemical Properties Storage Upon receipt, store at -20°C in the dark. Protect from light and moisture. When stored as indicated, Texas Red-X SE (5-isomer) is stable for at least 1 year.
