Water-soluble Cyanine5 succinimidyl ester (SE), equivalent to Cy5(R) NHS ester, is designed for labeling amine-containing molecules in aqueous solutions without the need for organic co-solvents. This makes it particularly suitable for labeling proteins that are prone to denaturation in the presence of organic solvents or those with low solubility. Sulfo-Cyanine5 is an analog of Cy5(R), one of the most widely used fluorophores, and is compatible with various instruments such as plate readers, microscopes, and imaging systems. This dye is highly hydrophilic and water-soluble. A non-sulfonated version is also available for specific applications. It can serve as a direct replacement for Cy5(R) and DyLight 649 in all applications. Chemical Properties Storage Upon receipt, store at -20°C in the dark. Protect from light and moisture. When stored as indicated, Sulfo-Cyanine 5 NHS ester is stable for at least 1 year.
