CYTO-16 *equivalent to SYTO 16*

CYTO 16 is manufactured by AAT Bioquest to replace SYTO 16 Green Nucleic Acid Stain. They have virtually the same chemical and biological properties. CYTO 16 is a cell-permeant nucleic acid stain that exhibits bright, green fluorescence upon binding to nucleic acids. The CYTO 16 dye can be used to stain RNA (Ex/Em ~ 494/525 nm) and DNA (Ex/Em ~ 488/518 nm) in both live and dead eukaryotic cells, as well as in Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Eukaryotic cells incubated with SYTO 16 dye generally show cytoplasmic or mitochondrial staining, as well as nuclear staining.
