Cyanine7 is an amine-reactive near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dye and an enhanced analog of Cy7(R). NIR fluorophores leverage the near-infrared window of biological tissues, where increased tissue transparency in this spectral range enables effective in vivo imaging. This reagent can be used to create Cyanine7-labeled biomolecules for various applications, including in vivo research and drug development studies. Cyanine7 features a rigidized central polymethine chain, a structural enhancement that boosts its quantum yield by 20% compared to its parent structure, resulting in greater fluorescence brightness. Labeling with this reagent requires the use of an organic co-solvent (refer to the Recommended Protocols section for details). For protein NIR labeling, the water-soluble Cyanine7 NHS ester is also available and is the recommended option. Chemical Properties Storage Upon receipt, store at -20°C in the dark.
